How BioRx Works
BioRx uses Touch Screen monitors inside the hoods to allow the pharmacist or technologist quick access to the commands necessary to manage inventory (eluting generators, mixing kits, and filling orders). High-speed prescription printers ensure that the label is ready when the dose is ready. High-speed syringe label printers have the syringe label ready to pre-wrap the syringe before drawing the dose. Barcode scanners inside the hood verify the correct dose is drawn from the correct kit. Bi-directional communication with the dose calibrators enable BioRx to track actual activities and amounts. Barcode scanners at the shipping stations allow a final check that the right dose goes to the right customer every time!

BioRx uses one of the fastest database engines in the industry - MySQL.
The database engine allows us to use redundant database servers. We normally set up one of the computers in the hood as a backup database server which stays in continual sync with the primary server. If the server were to go down for any reason we simply switch to the backup and no time is lost. BioRx also sends a backup of the database off-site every night. This backup goes to an independent location on the internet for safekeeping.
BioRx servers come with a RAID 1 Hard-drive setup (2 hard drives in mirrored mode). The server is a File server, FTP server, HTTP server (web), E-mail server, Firewall, VPN server (remote access), and a MySQL Database server. Without the updates in computer hardware, BioRx would not exist in its current form. It would have been more like its very limited competitors. |
